Forgotten, but not gone

Updated safety feature comparisons are available on the website for midsize three-rows and subcompact SUVs, now featuring the Mahindra Marazzo and updated Suzuki Eeco respectively.

The Mahindra Marazzo midsize three-row apparently soldiers on into stricter emissions regulations. It offers ISOFIX anchorages and frontal airbags, but little else, not even electronic stability control. Captain-seat versions earn an overall rating of 'Fair' because they have three-point safety belts in all seating positions; others earn the lowest rating, 'Not Recommended'.

Limited improvements come from the Suzuki Eeco, still a popular vehicle for private fleet operators for schoolchildren, last-mile deliveries, and even available as an ambulance. The Eeco now features a basic reminder system for the rear safety belts. This system does not feature occupant detection, yet the signal begins at the start of every journey, which can discourage belt use by prompting users to keep the rear safety belts parked perpetually. It is hoped that Suzuki considers fitting a more intelligent system in the future.
