In the last release for the third quarter, Gobar NCRAP announces updates to the safety feature comparisons for midsize SUVs and sedans.
The Honda Elevate midsize SUV is rated with a surprising result of 'Fair', with potential for improvement. Although the Elevate impresses with safety assist technologies like a blind spot camera, AEB, and lane support, it falls short of its sedan stablemate, missing out on a three-point seatbelt and headrest for the rear centre passengers, and a tyre deflation warning. It also does not have safety belt reminders for the rear seats, now ubiquitous in the segment, including on the Astor from MG, whose result is updated in this release to reflect so.
VW have added safety belt reminders to the rear seats of the Virtus midsize sedan, and its result is updated. There is no official information yet from the manufacturer if this change applies also to its "corporate twin" model the Škoda Slavia, or their SUV stablemates the VW Taigun and Škoda Kushaq.
