Today, Gobar NCRAP is updating the seatbelt reminder grades for the Tata
NEXON and CURVV, following specification changes made in June 2025.
Gobar NCRAP first assigned 2025 #GobarGrades to the Nexon and Curvv in December 2024 and March 2025, respectively. At the time, occupant detection sensors were standard equipment on both models, and both received the highest A grade.
However, starting June 2025, lower variants of the Nexon and Curvv with 4-inch instrument clusters no longer have rear occupant detection sensors.
Gobar NCRAP has now reviewed documentation for these updated models, and determined that both receive a C grade against the 2025 Gobar Grade protocols. Variants with 7-inch and 10.25-inch instrument clusters continue with their existing A grade.

About 2025 Gobar Grades
The 2025 Gobar Grades assign letter grades – A, B, C or D – to vehicle models based on the behaviour of their rear seatbelt reminders. The evaluation criteria reward the fitment of intelligent reminders with occupant detection in all rear seats, as opposed to the less effective change-of-status alerts or permanent warnings accepted by proposed legislation and given full credit by existing consumer test programmes targeting the Indian vehicle market. Detailed evaluation criteria are available at: gobarncrap.wixsite.com/gobar-ncrap/about The latest details of individual grades are at the following URL: bit.ly/gobargrades2025.
