The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Skoda Kylaq join the sub-4m segment aiming to capture buyers in the already crowded segment. Gobar NCRAP considers both 'RECOMMENDED' after evaluating their safety specification.
Both vehicles have 3-point seatbelts with reminders in all seats, side and curtain airbags, i-Size rear seats with ISOFIX anchorages, electronic stability control, and tyre pressure monitors (on higher variants of the Dzire). The Kylaq also has a head restraint in the rear centre seat, while the Dzire boasts protection ranging from marginal to good in crash tests by Global NCAP — the Kylaq has not been tested yet. It is not clear at this point whether lower variants of the Kylaq have tyre pressure monitors, so the Kylaq has not yet been evaluated with standard equipment.
Neither car has any form of blind spot monitoring or advanced crash avoidance technologies.
