Shortly after its release, Gobar NCRAP has evaluated the safety specification of the refreshed Hyundai ALCAZAR.
The ALCAZAR is a three-row derivative of the popular Creta midsize SUV, so it should come as no surprise that this update carries over the safety feature updates made to the Creta earlier in the year.
Standard variants of the ALCAZAR now have a longer curtain airbag that extends far enough rearward to cover the third row of seats. Gobar NCRAP's overall verdict: 'RECOMMENDED'. All new ALCAZARs also have lap pretensioning for the driver; if implemented right, this can help protect the knees of drivers of different statures or positions in some crashes.
Higher variants of the ALCAZAR now include advanced crash avoidance technologies like automatic emergency braking, and a sensor-based blind spot detection system in addition to the existing camera. These variants receive Gobar NCRAP's 'BEST PICK' distinction.
