Toyota cut costs with Fortuner while Tata shine again with new Harrier EV

Gobar NCRAP is releasing the rear seatbelt reminder grades for the Toyota FORTUNER, recently updated with rear seatbelt reminders as standard, and the recently launched Tata HARRIER.EV.

The Fortuner in India – unlike its Australian counterpart – does not include occupant detection for the rear seats, and makes do with a simple change-of-status alert that only activates its audio signal if a belt is fastened and then unfastened.

In contrast, Tata's new Harrier.ev, which includes occupant detection, and a visual and acoustic alert for belt non-use by a detected occupant, earns an A grade.
