Today, Gobar NCRAP is releasing the results for four small SUVs.
The Maruti Suzuki IGNIS, Hyundai EXTER and MY2025 Tata PUNCH receive only C-grades for rear seat belt reminders. They lack occupant detection and vary in their reminder behaviour. The Hyundai has curtain airbags as standard equipment, but disappointingly, lower variants omit ISOFIX anchorages. In contrast, the Ignis and Punch omit curtain airbags, but have ISOFIX anchorages, the former even offering two i-Size positions despite its age.
The Ignis also sticks with an inferior two-point static lap belt in its rear centre seats (the Punch was updated with a three-point belt earlier this month).
