Today, Gobar NCRAP is announcing the results of the third 2025 Gobar Gradings, evaluating six B and C-segment MPVs to the new 2025 criteria.
The Kia CARENS, Toyota RUMION, Maruti Suzuki ERTIGA/XL6, Maruti Suzuki EECO and Renault TRIBER all receive C-grades, either activating their audio-visual signals from the start of the journey for unoccupied unbuckled seats, or starting only their visual signals while waiting for a change of belt status from 'buckled' to 'unbuckled' to start their secondary audio signals.
Notably, most models in this release, barring the Carens and inherently the XL6, offer inferior two-point static lap-type seatbelts in their second-row centre seats. Only one — the Carens — has curtain airbags, and those too do not cover the third row of seats.
The Mahindra MARAZZO, which has an on-again-off-again relationship with the brand's website — but still has inventory remaining at the time of writing — omits rear seatbelt reminders altogether and receives D-grade.
