Although the brochure on the Mahindra website is out of date, media reviews for the XUV700's "Ebony" limited edition indicate that rear seatbelt reminders were made standard equipment across the range during or before March 2025.

The XUV700's owners' manual was updated in February 2025 to include the behaviour of the new system:
"2.3.6 Driver and Passenger Seat Belt Reminder Indication (If equipped)

The driver, co-driver and front facing rear passenger seat belt reminder warning symbol lamp will blink in instrument cluster if driver, co-driver and front facing rear passenger doesn’t wear the seat belt and will be continuous until belt is buckled.
Chime will be activated when vehicle travels more than 25 Kmph of speed while vehicle is in motion which will be ON for 95 seconds for front seat belt and 35 seconds for front facing rear seat belt.
PODS detects the presence of occupant in the front passenger and front facing rear seating locations.

If Occupant is present on front passenger and front facing rear passenger seats and not wearing the seat belt, Seat belt reminder warning symbol lamp will glow on the center fascia switch provided in vehicle instrument panel and will be continuous until the seat belt is buckled.
It should be noted that the PODS require a minimum weight hence children may not be detected by PODS. Along with this warning symbol, a Chime in Cluster will be ON for 95 seconds for front seat belt reminder and 35 seconds for front facing rear seat belt reminder.
Do keep in mind that after market seat covers also may deteriorate the detection senor performance, don’t use the non recommended/non authorized seat covers."
